Top Protein Powder
There are sooooo many different protein powders. When I ran this survey, I got over 90 unique submissions. The graph below shows the top 9 of those options. Optimum Nutrition Gold was the clear winner, which makes me feel good about myself since that’s what I order.
Best Lifting Belts
There is a considerably amount of research showing lifting belts can boost performance when lifting. Not all belts are created equally though. It’s probably prudent to avoid the ultra-cheap and those with a very narrow front. The results from the reader survey yielded no clear winner, but Rogue, Harbinger and Pioneer all took top honors.
Best Lifting Shoes
Choice of lifting shoe is quite personal. The best shoe for you depends on the movements you focus on in training, the shape of your foot and a bunch of other factors. For me, it’s Adipowers or death. But, that’s not how the results shook out in this survey. Nike was the clear winner, but Adidas had a couple shoes splitting their votes, so… 🤷♂️
Best Blender Bottles
Some protein shakers are basic. Some shakers come with more compartments and trap doors than a 15th century castle. In the end, the classic option won out amongst readers. I have a sneaking suspicion this has something to do with its low cost and the guilt that comes along with deciding to toss the bottle after you accidentally forgot to clean it and left it in the back of your car for two weeks… or at least that’s something I’ve heard happens to people.
